About the Project
The UK’s largest and most exciting play space has been opened in April 2023. Six different zones (Joy, Happiness, Excitement, Surprise, Curiosity and Calm) with their own unique features, connected by a circular, light-emitting red pathway.
Alegría is designed for children under the age of five, bright yellow in colour, and aims to bring smiles to the little ones’ faces. In this area you can find swings, trampolines and an interactive memory game, as well as a small tower with mirrors, three slides and climbing elements.
Happiness is an area with a maze of geometric climbing nets, and a 10-metre tower. There is also a rope tunnel that crosses to the highest tower, a 7-metre slide and a variety of balancing platforms.
Thrill at the heart of the action with the tallest tower, 14 metres high. When young explorers reach the top, they will be rewarded with panoramic sea views. Even more impressive is a 10-metre tube slide that lights up as you slide down it.
Surprise features a tower just over 8 metres high, which serves as an introduction to climbing and heights, and offers wheelchair users a unique perspective from an accessible platform. There are also hidden sensory surprises to discover.
Curiosity is an exciting space where mum and dad can join in the fun. Children and grown-ups of all ages can work together to conquer the world’s largest see-saw. As the 24-metre structure swings back and forth, it will flicker with light. There is also an archway that features interactive motion-based games.
Calma corresponds to the violet zone and offers gentle play experiences for when energy levels are low. The sensory tower features illuminated poles, soothing sounds and music.
